10/25/18- Opioid and Substance Use Disorders: Destigmatizing the Issue and Responding to the Challenge

Between January and June of this year, Maryland reported 1,185 opioid related deaths, and Baltimore city represents one of the hardest-hit communities in the state. The Virginia Lee Franklin Lecture introduces a panel of experts from research, nursing, and social work. Their presentation will be followed by an "open mic" session for all to participate. Speakers: Luana Colloca, MD, PhD, MS Associate Professor, University of Maryland School of Nursing Associate Professor, University of Maryland School of Medicine Victoria Selby, PhD, CRNP-PMH, PMHNP-BC Assistant Professor, University of Maryland School of Nursing Michelle Tuten, MSW, LCSW-C, PhD Associate Professor, University of Maryland School of Social Work
